The Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF) Board of Trustees has appointed David M. Sullivan as Chair of the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council (FASAC), effective January 1, 2026.
FASAC advises the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) on strategic and technical matters, offering diverse perspectives from across the financial reporting community.
Sullivan will succeed Michael M. Morrow, who has served as FASAC Chair since 2020 and will conclude his term at the end of 2025.
A member of the Public Interest Oversight Board, Sullivan also serves on the audit quality boards of RSM USA LLP and CBIZ CPAs. He retired from Deloitte in 2021 after a 35-year career, including roles as global Audit & Assurance Quality Leader and lead advisory partner across several industries.
“Dave is a respected leader with broad experience in financial reporting and advisory,” said FAF Chair Edward Bernard. “We are pleased to welcome him as FASAC Chair.”
FASB Chair Rich Jones added, “Dave’s strategic insight and deep understanding of financial reporting will be invaluable in guiding the Council’s work.”
